Sekmet Experience - Luxor Egypt
I was in Egypt in January 2022 spending some time in my favorite Egyptian city of Luxor. An Egyptian Guide friend had promised to take me to a very special place at Karnak Temple the next time I was there. On the first full day of my visit we headed there. Karnak is a very large Temple complex covering several acres of land.
Once we got inside the main complex at Karnak he led me to the small temple dedicated to the goddess Sekmet. She is the lion-headed goddess of healing and war depicted in so many statues and carvings around Egypt. In this shrine is a life-sized granite statue of Sekmet.
Once I got to the shrine the Guardian of the temple led me in and removed all the barriers between me and the goddess. He then motioned for me to go up and touch the statue. I felt led to place my hands on her hands and close my eyes. Once I did this, I began to receive a transmission from the goddess. In my mind the transmission looked like zig zag waves similar to those on an old fashioned cartoon TV screen, only they were not black and white. I continued to receive this transmission until I felt it had ended and I could no longer see the waves of energy.
When I walked from the shrine I was a little shaky and had to hold onto my Egyptian friend to steady myself. We started walking away from the shrine and stopped for a moment under a Sycamore tree. What we had not realized was that the Guardian had followed us. I watched as he climbed into the tree and picked some fruit which he brought to me. He then proceeded to open the fruit and start to feed it to me. I later asked my friend who is an Egyptian guide and has brought thousands of people to this site if this happened often. He told me he had never seen them do this with anyone else before. I knew then that something very special was going on with Sekmet and there was a bond that I didn’t yet understand.
Following this first day I continued to encounter statues of Sekmet that I felt were arresting me in my tracks and forcing me to pay attention. This occurred at the Temple of Hebu in several places, one of which only had the niches remaining from where there had been Sekmet statues. I could still feel the energy in the room. The other main place was the Luxor Museum where it occurred a number of times in addition to the same kind of arresting feeling in front of a large head of Akhenaten who is known as the heretic king for changing to a “one God” religion.
When I returned to Egypt 2 months later and met a Sufi Muslim in an alabaster shop he had me go to a special room in the back where they had special pieces and not just the touristy things most people purchase. He looked at me and said “Sekmet is calling you”. I told him I knew she was, that I could feel it. He then showed me a very special piece that had a carving of Sekmet’s face on each side. It was granite and he had personally carved it. I purchased this very special piece and it sits on my mantle today reminding me of this special relationship that I have with Sekmet and her presence in my life.
Finally when I was returning to the airport with my Sufi guide from the March visit, he told me to get a book about the goddess. I purchased a book about Sekmet and began to read it. My reading was interrupted by a trip to Kenya for a safari in April. I came back from that trip with Giardia (a nasty parasite that is challenging to remove). The parasite gets in your digestive tract and can extend from the thoAfter some severe diarrhea and a couple of trips to the emergency room for IVs, I finally got a prescription specific for Giardia and managed to clear it out in November. I resumed reading the Sekmet book and realized the last chapter I had read was when Sekmet had eaten me and was digesting me and removing all the things I no longer needed. I had remarked many times during the months between April and November that it felt like I was going through a shamanic death and being stripped down so I could rebuild. I had no idea just how accurate that had been.
Whenever I do energy healing on myself or other people in addition to calling on Jeshua (Jesus), Mary and Archangel Raphael, I now call on Sekmet as well.
